Inspired by a son's love for his mother

Almost all adult children are faced with the decision of how to best take care of an aging parent.  As is the case these days, many seniors are opting to "age-in-place" and stay in their homes living as independently as possible.

This was the case for HouzMinders co-founder Barry Beard.  His 95-year-old mother had been living alone since the death of Barry's father and, as much as she loved being able to stay in the familiar surroundings of her own home, the thought of maintaining the home she loved was overwhelming and a source of anxiety.   

Aware of his own limitations - both time and ability - Barry set out to find a solution.  Certainly there were more situations like that of his mom's.  And, surely, other adult children were out there searching for solutions as well.  HouzMinders was born out of that desire to provide home maintenance services to those in the greatest need.

It quickly became clear that this was not the only group of individuals who would benefit from these types of services.  There would be others who would like relief from some of the stressors of home ownership -- busy professionals, single parents, and anyone lacking time, skill or desire.

The goal of HouzMinders is to provide individuals and families with peace of mind.  HouzTechs, HouzKeepers, HouzManagers and HouzCertified Contractors look to create a relationship with you based on trust, reliability, and excellent service.  Clients will see a familiar face with each HouzTech visit, not a stranger. 

Barry's mom is an avid gardener who enjoys being able to safely navigate her  blooming oasis.  Now, she has more time for that with less worry about what she needs to do to properly maintain her home.  And, Barry?  Well, he rests easier as well knowing that his mom can continue to thrive in her familiar surroundings.
